I am impressed by how loud it is!

This is a reproduction of a sixth-century germanic lyre.  It has a surprisingly modern sound when strummed.  I like it.

I like the sound of it and it is also surprising to me how loud it is, I wonder if they just sound edited it a bit. I can watch those reconstructions of how things, sounded, tasted, were, etc for hours on youtube. Like this one on how they walked before the invention of hard soles:

Isn't that amazing?

The moment he stretches his foot out (around 2:15), I thought, "He looks exactly like a figure in a Mediaeval illumination!" It should have been obvious they're shown like that because they're walking differently!

Indeed. I am now wondering what was up with those Egyptians, they also look a bit strange in those ancient Egyptian reliefs.

They were trying to keep their flip-flops on.

Makes sense. And our generation probably will be remembered as a forward neck one because we constantly look down at the screens of our phones. I think they will soon sort out those Google glasses and people after us will revert to upright posture.

I love that video! I've seen it before. I'm convinced that spending much of my childhood barefoot is the reason that my feet get really really tired fast on pavement & hard surfaces, whereas I can walk for miles through woods and moorlands.

Pp is the other way around, and he plonks his feet down like he's trying to make a hole in the floor.

It's lovely when it's plucked. I would be nice to hear him sing with it.

I went off to look for people singing to it, and found this guy singing this slightly offcolour but very jolly ballad

He'd make quite a good Maglor if it were not for the beard.

"I only liked the upper part..." LOL.

I do like to see a man with long hair.

I like it too. I was also rather taken with the musician, so I went to the website and read about him and his partner. Venturesome folk!

Cool! If I'd heard it I would have taken it for the guitar (at least when strummed).
And Mermaid Song is great. I haven't understand much, but enough to have a good laugh. Thank you.
