To Dartmoor, randomly.

Despite the terrible weather promised inevitably by a British Bank Holiday, I had agreed to meet my mother at Two Bridges.  To Two Bridges we went, therefore, and were greeted, to the joy of the hounds, by the return of blue skies.    And Rosie got some left-over scone while we were drinking tea at the Two Bridges hotel, which pleased her.

I keep forgetting how close Dartmoor is.  I must make the effort to drive the extra 10 minutes or so more often.

I love the folded Brythen, and the hill behind him, which doesn't look as strangely foreign and southern as I expected and would be quite at home in parts of the Lake District, if not Scotland.

Dartmoor is on my list of places to get to one day, but it's a long way away!

Dartmoor is like an odd little pool of Scotland or Wales, a that has accidentally got dropped into the heart of the Land of the Cream Tea. :-D

No mountains though, alas!

Mountains are overrated - I like my walking to go along and around and about, not UP and DOWN like the grand old duke of york. They're pretty to look at, though.
