 I have made vine leaf wraps with the leaves from my grape vine a couple of times now, and they worked really well.  I boiled them in hot water for a few minutes, then filled them with paella rice, Quorn mince, garlic and chopped peppers, but they seem to be the kind of thing you can fill with anything you have lying about the house. If you boil them in a frying pan rather than a saucepan or in the oven, they are easier to remove without falling to bits and a frying pan with a lid on it is still plenty deep enough.
