Writing to ask for stuff

This website amused me: http://www.the39dollarexperiment.com/

I seem to remember that back in 1997 or whenever, someone did a test where they rang 100 major companies and asked for their web addresses, to find that most of the people who answered the phone could not tell them. Could it be that snail mail addresses are the new web addresses?

I'm surprised he didn't get more stuff. Perhaps his writing style was off.

I am reminded that I once wrote in anger to a sardine tin manufacturer complaining that they broke my tin opener, and they sent me a fiver. Hurray! It still gives me a warm glow to think of it. Nowadays sardines tins all come with ring-pulls, even the cheapo ones. This is a Good Thing.
